Installing WampServer 3 on Windows 7


 I will install WampServer 3 on the Windows 7 operating system.


Step 1

We launch the downloaded file, and we get into the menu for choosing the language of the installer, alas, but there is no Russian, so we immediately click "OK".

Next, the welcome window, click "Next".

Then we agree to the terms of the license agreement, select "I accept the agreement" and click "Next".

Then an information window will open containing the requirements for installation, click "Next".

Next, select the installation folder, leave the default and click "Next".

On the next window, also leave the name by default, click "Next".

Then we can check the “Create a desktop icon” box so that a shortcut to launch WampServer appears on the desktop, click “Next”.

Everything is ready for installation, click "Install".




The installation has started.




During installation, the following messages will appear.



In this case, we are told that Internet Explorer will be used as the default browser for WampServer, and if this does not suit us, then we can specify the browser we need by clicking the "Yes" button, but if it suits us, click "No". I click "No".



And in this case, we are offered to specify an alternative text editor, Notepad (standard Windows notepad) will act by default. I click "No", i.e. he will arrange me.


Step 9

Another informational message will appear, it will indicate that in order to connect to MySQL using phpMyAdmin, you must specify the “root” login without a password, but after the first connection it is recommended to set a password for this user, click “Next”.



Step 10

That's it, the installation is complete, leave the "Launch WampServer" checkbox, if we want to immediately launch WampServer, click "Finish".




As a result, a shortcut will appear on the desktop, and an icon will appear in the system tray, and if it is green, it means that all services are running. In order to open the menu, left-click on the tray icon.




Checking the work of WampServer 3

To make sure the web server is running, let's open any browser and type http://localhost/ in the address bar. If all is well, then you should see the following page.
